Uber Renews Landmark Partnership with Jamaica Paralympic Association

Uber has renewed and expanded its partnership with the Jamaica Paralympic Association (JPA), continuing its role as the organization’s official islandwide travel partner. What started as a cash sponsorship agreement in 2024 has grown into a full mobility solution aimed at tackling one of parasport’s biggest obstacles: transportation.

Under the renewed deal, JPA-registered athletes and coaches will get free access to Uber’s local services for training, domestic competitions, and airport trips tied to international events and championships. The goal is to ease the financial burden many parasport athletes face just trying to stay active and competitive.

JPA President Christopher Samuda called the agreement both practical and meaningful, noting it cuts costs for athletes and removes uncertainty from their travel logistics. JPA Sport Manager and decorated Paralympian Neville Sinclair described the move as historic for Jamaican sport, while Samuda emphasised that reliable transportation is foundational to athletic performance and opportunity.

The expanded partnership will be formally launched in March, when both organisations plan to detail the full scope of the initiative — one being positioned as a model for how corporate partnerships can drive social inclusion in sport.
