Right attitude, right approach, commitment, a hunger to do one’s best, fixity of purpose and performance are but a few factors which are considered when the JPA selects its male and female athletes for a calendar year.
Shane Hudson and Dana-Gaye Weller have received the honours for 2015 and will formally be acknowledged come January 15 at the RJR Sports Foundation Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Awards which will be held at the Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston, the business capital of Jamaica.
For Shane it is not novel as he has already been a recipient: “Well I did it again and I appreciate being selected from a group of very talented athletes”.
However, for Dana, this will be her maiden voyage: “It feels great and I hope to do it again”
Repeat feats, with improved performances, are always on the Paralympic agenda in building character, achieving success and transforming the game.
