Commitment and loyalty go beyond the mere presentation of a sponsorship cheque and Newport Fersan Jamaica, a leading local and Caribbean manufacturer and distributor of fertilizer, is demonstrating this in their support of Jamaica’s London 2012 Paralympic Team.
Dennis Valdez, its Managing Director and unquestionably a people person, left Jamaica on Wednesday to join team Jamaica in London to witness the successes of our athletes.
Recently when he presented his company’s cheque of over $2,000,000.00 at the London 2012 Paralympic launch at the Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre, Valdez remarked:
“We are looking forward to being in London with our athletes not as tourists but as part of the camp, the winning team. We will be there to see medals won and personal success gained. We will be there to share the laughter of friendship, the anxious moments of competition, the joy of success and the pride of the Jamaican flag flying high.”
Newport Fersan Jamaica’s support of our paralympians is priceless and gives a deeper meaning and understanding to corporate human and social responsibility. It is not a marketing campaign for a greater share of the public’s wallet. It is character building, nation building.
“I am humbled for Newport Fersan Jamaica is playing its part, a small part but with a big heart, in strengthening the Jamaican spirit and realizing dreams of champions.” Said Valdez at the launch.
Newport Fersan Jamaica produces in excess of JA$5.6 billion which provides employment for many Jamaicans and exports in excess of JA$400 million which is a source of foreign exchange for Jamaica and additional employment.
It also donates over JA$6 million annually to various non-profit groups to assist with improving the lives of Jamaicans.
Newport Fersan Jamaica, homegrown, is now in London with our athletes to celebrate Jamaica’s paralympic glory.
