The Jamaica Paralympic Association marked Paralympic Day on Wednesday alongside the rest of the world, celebrating the achievements of para-athletes and the unifying power of sport. The international observance promotes fitness, well-being, sports culture, and educational opportunities, anchored by the core Paralympic values of determination, inspiration, courage, and equality.
Veteran Paralympic team physiotherapist Dr. Roxine Thomas welcomed the recognition, noting it gives athletes another platform to inspire others. She also called on Jamaicans to rally behind their para-athletes, emphasising that stronger national support is vital to sustaining high performance and encouraging the next generation of competitors.
