Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), came to Kingston on Sunday night in preparation for meetings with various sports stakeholders this week.
He landed at Norman Manley International Airport and was met by Jamaica Paralympics Association President Christopher Samuda.
Parsons, who will be visiting the island until Thursday, will discuss the strength and future growth of parasports in the region, as well as meet with Sports Minister Olivia Grange.
Parsons believes Jamaica is a pioneer in the Paralympic movement and aims to introduce the Jamaican model to other Caribbean countries.
