Christopher Samuda, President of the Jamaica Paralympic Association, says Allison France’s victory in the recent Australian general election sends a signal to the global citizenry that para athletes and people with disabilities can reach new heights, triumph in any endeavor, and be recognized as superior candidates for leadership.
France, who represented Australia in paracanoeing, winning two team gold medals and a silver at the Outrigger Canoe World Sprint Championships in 2016, defeated then-Leader of the Opposition and Liberal Party Leader Peter Dutton in the Queensland seat of Dickson.
