The Digicel Foundation has donated $500,000 to help the nation’s para-athletes. At the recent opening of Paralympic Week at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona Campus in Kingston, Charmaine Daniels, the organization’s CEO, made the news.
The donation will support the “I Am Phenomenal” campaign of the Jamaica Paralympic Association (JPA), which seeks to dismantle obstacles, change attitudes, and provide chances for people with all abilities to excel on both the national and international front. According to Ms. Daniels, “At the Digicel Foundation, we firmly believe that inclusivity is not an option; it is a necessity.”
