Jamaica’s celebrated Paralympian Alphanso Cunningham shattered the world record in the F 53 Javelin at the UTECH Knights Track and Field Classic in Kingston Jamaica.

He threw 22.83m and 22.75.m. The former record was 22.08m.

Alphanso is firmly on the road to Lyon and will be looking to create history in France again.

Alphanso said “I am feeling good. The world record is sweet and was long in the making”

Coach Sinclair remarked: “Alphanso is giving a warning for the IPC Athletics World Championships in France. It will again be broken in France. In training we knew that he was going to break it and this now has silenced all doubting Thomases.”

President of the Jamaica Paralympic Association, Christopher Samuda in celebrating. Alphanso’s victory said “Argument done! He is the big man to beat!

Secretary General Suzanne Harris-Henry who was at the meet was beaming with pride and said “I knew Alphanso had it in him to break the world record and France here we come or as the French say nous allons!”
